CARBrief organises the contents of your EA documents. It isn’t legal advice, environmental consultancy or enforcement strategy. See terms for the full detail.
Why this matters
CAR findings can drive corrective actions and deadlines. For waste operations and installations, scored non-compliances also feed the year’s CCS compliance band, which can change subsistence charges.
Illustration from our public WE3661AC sample: four Category 3 findings, 16 points year to date, Band C noted on the form with subsistence at 110% of the charge for the following year — as printed on that CAR. We organise what the form says; we don’t re-score it.
What’s in a full brief
- Overall status in plain English
- Non-compliances with severity as scored on the CAR
- Linked permit conditions
- Deadlines and a priority checklist
- Evidence to retain — what to keep so you can show the actions were done
- Source page references
CARBrief extracts what the EA actually recorded. We don’t invent findings, scores, conditions or deadlines. If the document is thin or unclear, the brief says so.
